Should I choose the Obsidian Black (1.0mm) or Beyond Blue (1.3mm)? +

Choose Obsidian Black if you want the absolute slimmest profile — just 1.0mm frame and 32g total. Choose Beyond Blue if you prefer a bolder, distinctive look with a slightly thicker 1.3mm frame (35g). Both deliver the same Kevlar® protection, 10N magnetic hold, and hinge coverage.

Does it protect the hinge? +

Yes — the hinge is one of the Fold's most vulnerable points, and the Grand Combo addresses it directly. The magnetic auto-closing hinge cover with durable PU exterior snaps closed every time you fold the phone, protecting the mechanism from everyday wear, scratches, and debris without affecting the fold motion.

Does it work with MagSafe and wireless charging? +

Yes to both. The 10N magnetic array is fully compatible with MagSafe-standard accessories — chargers, ring stands, wallets, and car mounts. Wireless (Qi) charging also works through the case without removing it.

Why does Benks use genuine Kevlar® instead of generic aramid? +

Not all aramid fibers are equal. Benks holds an official DuPont license to use genuine Kevlar® — the specific para-aramid fiber trusted in body armor, motorsport, and aerospace for its verified strength, heat resistance, and premium woven texture. Generic aramid is not the same material and lacks independent verification of these properties.

Is this compatible with the standard Z Fold 8 or Z Fold 7? +

No — the Grand Combo ArmorGrid Air is engineered exclusively for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. It is not compatible with the standard Z Fold 8 (wide format), the Z Fold 7, or any previous model. Fit and coverage are precision-matched to the Fold 8 Ultra's exact dimensions.
